What I do

I enjoy spending time with my family attending Bluegrass festivals, camping, and traveling. I continue to pursue my art in a variety of ways. Most recently my creative endeavors have expanded into North Sky Tie Dye.

I have been a member of the Old Orchard Beach school community since 2003. I started my journey as a Special Education teacher at Jameson working with students who present with a variety of needs. Beginning in 2014, I served the district as a Behavior Strategist, providing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, Restorative School Practices, integration of the Zones of Regulation, and developing Child Study Action Plans. I continue to work as an interventionist providing both executive functioning and academic support to the students at Loranger.

I graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and soon after I obtained my Special Education certification from the University of Southern Maine. While working toward my certifications my husband and I served as house parents in group homes for youth at risk in the state of Maine. Prior to starting my teaching career, I pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arcadia University and continue to work as a professional artist.
