What I do

I have 3 adult sons and 2 cats whom I love dearly. When my boys were younger, I was always involved in their activities, and continue to serve as a mentor for the South Portland High School Robotics Team even though my youngest son graduated in 2019. I also have a craft business and enjoy making meaningful gifts. Over the last few years, I have developed a love for travel, and am always looking forward to the next adventure with my friends or family members!

I grew up in South Portland and went on to study Zoology at the University of New Hampshire. After graduating, I planned to stay and teach in New Hampshire, but a long term substitute position opened at Loranger, and I returned home to Maine as a 6th grade science teacher in 1988. I have been here ever since! Over the years, I has taught several different subjects, but has finally found my favorite area to teach – math! I have been teaching math and social studies since 2016 and love working to strengthen students’ number sense and positive mindsets about math.
