Kate Shaw

What I do

When Mrs Shaw isn’t in the music room, she can be found either in her flower garden growing many varieties of dahlias, at the beach with a good book or playing games on her porch with her family and friends. Mrs Shaw has a husband who is willing to do the hard parts of the gardening and three awesome children, all grown up now.

Mrs Shaw joined the RSU 23 staff in 1995 as a classroom teacher after teaching in Waterville for four years. During that time, she taught multiage, first and second grades. In 2019, she had the opportunity to change her focus to the music room and she grabbed it. She started with PreK to grade two music at Jameson, and in 2021 joined the Loranger staff teaching grades three through five as well. She loves having the opportunity to see students grow over her seven years with them, adding musical skills and appreciation along the way.
