What I do

I truly enjoy being an enthusiastic cheerleader for all of my three children. Their sports, activities, clubs, and interests keep me busy when not at school. I am an avid reader, enjoy baking, gardening, exploring our beautiful state and spending time at home with my family.

I started my career with the Old Orchard Schools in 1995 when I was hired to teach the multi-age program. I embraced the multi-age philosophy, teaching older and younger learners ages 6-8 for seven years before transitioning to first and second grades. I brought with me a love of incorporating music into teaching. In 2019 I took over the PreK – 2 music position at Jameson and in 2021, added 3rd – 5th grades music at Loranger. I am so excited about this new path and get to spend my days singing songs, incorporating music into literature, playing instruments and creating joyful music with kids. What could be better?

I grew up in Waterville, Maine and received my Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the University of Maine in 1991. My first teaching position was at the Brookside School in Waterville, now renamed the George Mitchell School. Southern Maine has been my home since 1994 and I so proud to be a part of the Old Orchard Beach Schools community.
