What I do
Outside of school, my husband, Tom, and I enjoy hiking the beautiful New England region and spending time with our family. In my community, I am a certified yoga instructor, an active member of the PTO, leads an after school club and plans and organizes the costuming needs for the district’s theater program.
I have been a member of the RSU23 teaching staff since 2014. I hold degrees from Endicott College and the University of Maine Augusta. A strong advocate for hands-on learning and community involvement, I involve my students in project-based learning endeavors that help students make contributions to Old Orchard Beach. My professional interests focus on helping students understand who they are as individuals and the importance of accepting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Prior to joining the RSU 23 staff, I worked for myelf while raising my two children. In 2009, I decided to pursue a life-long goal of becoming an educator and began working in Saco as an ed-tech in a developmental classroom. This experience further fueled my desire to make a difference in the lives of children, and I went on to earn my teaching certification.
