OOB Conservation Commission Wins Award with Help from LMS StudentsPosted on
On behalf of the Maine Environmental Education Association it is my true pleasure to let you know that the OOB Conservation Commission has been selected for MEEA’s 2019 Excellence in Environmental Education Program Award! The MEEA Award Committee and Board of Directors feel that the work of the OOB Conservation Commission to connect Old Orchard Beach students to the environment and community around them is outstanding and highly commendable. This is a high honor and we are pleased to be awarding it to someone of such high caliber. Our gratitude to Cynthia Nye for nominating your organization.
The Excellence in Environmental Education Program Award is designed to recognize an outstanding environmental education program that is innovative and creative in its programming, has a strong evaluation component and results in changed behaviors by participants. Recipients for this award may include nonprofits, land trusts, city programs and others.
It is our hope that you and/or representatives from OOB Conservation Commission will be able to join us at our MEEA Awards night, Wednesday, January 22nd from 7pm – 8:30 pm to receive your award. The Awards Night is being held at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center (20 Gilsland Farm Road in Falmouth). At the ceremony we will be saying a few words about your organization, will present you with the award, and then hope you are willing to say a few words (2-3mins) in accepting it.
In addition to the Awards Night to honor all of our award recipients, this award includes a complimentary full MEEA conference registration for you and a one year membership to MEEA.
Please let me know if you are able to attend the Awards Night and if you have any questions.
Congratulations to you and your organization on such a well-deserved honor!
Warmly on behalf of the MEEA Board,
